Another in the series I shot for the new wings being built at Phoenixville Hospital. A 10-image series will be hanging there hopefully by month's end!

I love these old marquis from these vintage theaters. There is another nice one in Doylestown, the County Theater, that I have wanted to get at night but just never got to it yet.

Beautiful scene. i love hpw the theatre seems the only place filled with live in the otherwise empty and quiet street. well done :)

Neat shot Betsy, the car light streak gives a sense of movement /activity. Time goes on but the theatre stays to entertain.

Wonderful street scene and the exposure is great. I would crop out that ginormous column, newspaper box, and brightly lit window on the right and clone out the sidewalk at the bottom left corner, just to clean up the image a bit. They're a bit distracting and don't add anything to the image. Other than that, this is really great. Too bad the Borough didn't have that street light next to the theatre lit up for you. What were they thinking???

@Russ Devan: good observations on compo - I really need to do more 'in-camera' as I've found out that cropping after the fact really hurts when you go to print! I will, however, crop around and see what I can do - thanks for your input!!

OTOH, I'm wondering if that column and newspaper box adds to the "streetness" of this scene. I tried to imagine it without the column and box, and to me it seems the brightly lit theater hits the eye "too quickly" if that makes sense. The column is kind of a buffer and side frame for the lights and colors. But that's just one opinion. I like the shot.
