The obligatory 'Spring Crocus' shot :) This is also s.o.c. as I find I have less and less time for PS lately... plus, I love my 24-70mm 2.8 L lens.. it really produces superior color and shallow depth of field!

It's nice to see some spring color after a virtually snow-less, brown & gray winter. Very nice, Bets. Now, when you say "SOC", was this shot in RAW and then converted to JPG, or was it shot in JPG? Just curious because the JPGs shot on my camera look a little bit different than images shot in RAW (I almost always shoot in RAW and then convert them to JPGs). Not being a "Canonite", I don't know if they handle RAW and JPGs differently than Nikons. Just a technical curiosity I have. Either way, this is beautiful.

@Russ: Hey RD I shoot in JPG - unless I am completely unsure of the light (mix of incandescents, natural and flouresc.) and it's for a client, then I switch over to RAW for those shots. To be honest, I try to do as little PP as humanly possible. Always looking for new, quick techniques or easy adjustments to add a creative touch, but like most, I don't have hours and hours to fiddle with images!
Makes me want to quote Barbra Streisand from Funny Girl: " Hallo Gorgeous" of course with a Bronx accent. Absolutely splendiferous, Betsy!!

Crocuses are a marvelous begiinning to spring! Your lens sounds great! I, too, spend little time in PS. However, I do shoot all RAW.

I meant to add that the woman who spoke at the CCCC this week and is a photographer for the Daily Local (I think) said she uses jpeg for her newspaper photos.
