Good Fortune

Posted by Betsy Barron (Chester Springs, PA, United States) on 20 November 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I have a little story for today. So, it has been clean and purge week around the Barron household. Starting with the kids' rooms, the closets, the office and on and on. My husband and I have vowed to live cleaner and with less 'stuff' accumulating in piles about our feet.

In cleaning out our photo cabinet (you know the one... the one you quickly shut the doors on before everything comes toppling down).. I found a box labeled 28-105 lens. And I thought to myself, do I HAVE a 28-105 lens? YES! I do! From my Elan 7 35mm camera. And you know what? It's an EF model lens which means it fits on my 5D body!

First of all, I feel like an idiot. Second of all, I've been canceling photography jobs because my 24-70 is in the shop. And finally, it just goes to show how too much STUFF will prohibit you from seeing all that you actually HAVE!

We will be applying this theory to every aspect of life from now on and I hope in preparation for Thanksgiving, a celebration of the plentiful bounty, this will inspire YOU to do the same ! :)

ps. this image shot with the 28-105 during our FIRST SNOW OF THE YEAR!
