Up Close & Personal

If you're visiting daily (and I hope that you are), you know that last week I finally met the owners of "My" Tree, the McAfees. They gave me permission to shoot at will on their farm and the timing could not have been better. We got a wicked thunderhead rolling in around 7pm last night and I (with kids in tow) raced out to capture it... up close & personal with my tree to boot. IT WAS AWESOME! This week I am posting a series of images from that shoot. Enjoy!

One of my quirky things is I really, really love storms. I enjoy the wind and the changes in temperature, the sudden changes in cloud cover from sunlight to this, then the cloudburst (with thunder and lightning when I'm indoors safe) and all the sounds associated with pelting rains. So Betsy, all this is to say is: Your image here is really speaking my language. I am truly envious that you have these extreme conditions to not only enjoy, but also photograph. And best of all, I think you composed it and snapped it perfectly. This is a great picture, m'lady! :-)

Beatiful shot and a great series of images. You've captured the threatening clouds perfectly, yet the tree seems peaceful and tranquil. I like how they play off one another.
